Battle Royale by Panzerfire Battle Royale by Panzerfire
I think I've just entered a new stage in my coloring style. :giggle: I am VERY but VERY VERY VERY Happy with this work. It turned out way better that I actually expected.

So... Here's a Type 10 MBT of the Japanese Ground Self-Defence Force (JGSDF) opening fire against invading targets (Russia, North Korea, China, your misterious neighbour... whatever, your pick).

And on the skies a pair of AH-1S Cobras fly to provide air cover to nearby mechanized infantry units.

The Type 10 is still in the Prototype stage so it's possible that the final version of the Type 10 could look a bit (Or in the worst case... totally) different.
I have drawed this tank using the very few photos that are available of the prototype (Shown about a year ago). And it wasn't very easy as the desing is quite complex. Kinda like a mix between the Leopard 2A6 of the German Bundeswehr and the AMX-56 Leclerc of the French Army.

Since in this picture we assume that the Type 10 is already in service, I painted it with the typical colors other GSDF vehicles are painted.

Helicopters.... Like usual I vectorized a screenshot because I'm too lazy to go print reference and try to draw it by hand :iconimhappyplz: The screenshot I vectorized was from a AH-1 (N version???) so the gun pod is not exactly as present in the AH-1S that the GSDF has.
The original plan was to make 6 helicopter vectors. The first was the AH-1S Cobra, the second would have been an AH-64DJ Apache while the remaining four would be one UH-1J Iroquois and three CH-47J Chinooks. Quite a lot of work.

I was vectorizing the Apache when I realized... that the sky would simply be too crowed. And I found it hard to vectorize a small resolution screenshot and keep all the details. So I just putted the Cobra.

Most of the background is.... digital. No, honest! ^^;
The street and some part of the background were hand made but I had to extend some parts of the streets by drawing it with the pencil tool. I'd say... a third of the street section (The one located on the far right) is made on photoshop.
The forest in the background... Also totally digital. I didn't bother to draw three (And I'm not good at that either) so I used some brushes to make the forest.
I used a damn lot of brushes in this work and without them this project would not look this good.
I'd like to thank:
:iconredheadstock: for Sand/Gravel brushes, Grunge/Dirty brushes, Water effects brushes, Distressed brushes, Vegetation brushes, Tree brushes and Cloud brushes.
Ro_Stock provided scratch/grunge brushes which sadly are not noticeable.
:icongspotsimulant: for explosion brushes (You know where they are ;) ).
:iconsuperlibbie: for the rain brushes.

Well... I'd dare to say this was one of the best projects I've made. I'd been real epic to had included all the other helis but meh... It may have not look so good. ;)

And now I'm oficially out of linearts to work on :D Seriously... I don't have any drawings scanned nor waiting to be scanned. I haven't gotten into making blueprints of a mecha desing similar to the GASARAKI Type 17 Raiden which would lead subsequently to a more serious project. I don't dare to give a time schedual but here's a guess... it's gonna take a long while.

And if I'm too frustrated... well then I'll go back at working on some requies.
But I'm not gonna be available to work very hard on those because..... I have to go back to University :D Classes start in one week and this time I have to get serious. ;P

I still can work quicly on some -only vector- projects that don't require me to draw anything by hand and that aren't very complex. I could come up with some unmentioned projects if I can't come up with my more serious projects and requests.

Well I hope you like this as I sacrificed my beloved weekend to work on this. =P
See'ya in the Battlefield! :salute:

Thank you. I do plan on working on this one day but other artistic project and my studie have to come first I'm afraid. So it will take quite a while before that story is a reality.

Would Iran count to be as the invading enemy?

I  highly doubt that. Aside from conducting small scale intelligence operations and terrorist activities, the Iranians don't have any type of force projection capabilities. For Iran to invade Japan they would need a massive amount of Transport ships, Amphibious Assault ships, Carrier groups and a massive Logistics support infrastructure.

Allies could take some relief of all that pressure but Iran alone would be wholly unable. The only countries that could at this time pull an invasion of the Japanese islands right now would be Russia and China and even those countries would have a long shot at it because Japan's condition has an archipelago provides it with a pretty large defensive advantage.

hehe cheers, I'm very glad you like it.

I should plan on remaking this picture one day without using so many 3rd party brushes. This particular pìcture made extensive use of those. Nowadays I just use the brushes that come by default in PhotoShop and I'm positive that I can replicate many of the textures I pulled on this picture.

Dang, this is good.  I now have the sudden urge to look through some of your other works.  Will do that later, have other things I need to get back to now.

Once again, great job despite the amount of "borrowing" you used in it!

Thank you. However, looking back to this work I realize that I have truly abused the use of other artists brushes. ^^;

I feel less proud of the picture than I was when I first posted it.

But hey, at least since then I've been mostly trying to avoid brushes other than those available in PhotoShop.. :) So something good came out of it anyway.

In retrospective 'though I think I may have depended too much on brushes from other deviants.

That's something I try not to do again.

Nowadays I'm just using the brushes that come default with PhotoShop.

i can emphasize with your comment, but sometimes it's the elements and how they're arranged in the work that make a great piece of art.  the color of it is just the icing in my humble opinion

Well, there was a time in which I as planning to draw mechas of my own design ('Though still inspired by designs like those from Gasaraki and Full Metal Panic). However I got pretty lazy midway when I was working on some blueprints and decided to try it again another time.

That has not been the case however. It's not so easy to design a mecha.

2018: The chinese invasion of Japan.

While the US/NATO offensive in Iran scalated in a regional war in the middle east, the SCO supported Iran which became a full member of both SCO and TSCS.
RIC(Russia, India who made her mind and China) forces began to move into Iran, while China decides to strike Taiwan, and began to strike possitions of US forces in Okinawa and helping North Korea to move into Seoul.
China then seing how the US and NATO are over exausted(Russia is invading Easter Europe as a diversion supported by Chinese men ) decides to advance into Japan itself after both Taiwan and South Korea felt over, and ANZAC forces are blocked after China took over Okinawa and USCOM is in chaos after China's cyber warfare.

PS: this is my sis account. I'm deviant Canuleyo :D.
