EA Day 2009 parade 006

On the 29th of May 1810, The Argentine Army was created.

The Ministry of Defence decided to hold the parade of the 199th anniversary of the Army in the City of San Juan, Province of San Juan.
Between 900 and 1000 soldiers participated of the event.
Units from all over the country were brought to the celebration.

By the number 22 around their necks I suppouse they're from the RIM-22 (Regimiento de Infanteria Nº 22 / 22nd Mountain Infantry Regiment) which is based near the City of San Juan. The local Army unit.
Also wearing traditional clothing which similar to the ones being used by the soldiers in pictures "003" and "005".

Behind them are located the official seats where the Governor of San Juan Jose Luis Gioja, Head of the Army Divisional General Luis Pozzi and Minister of Defence Nilda Garré were present later on.

I later switched of position to the other side of the street in order to get a better picture of the parading soldiers because these guys would have blocked my view. Unfortunately... this was a mistake as later on these soldiers moved to the west to connect with the other army units as a second half. Ergo leaving that space clear and perfect for a good shot of the official seats. So I stupidly missed the opportunity to get a clear shot of the official present.
