Feuer Frei by Panzerfire Feuer Frei by Panzerfire
"Feuer Frei!!!"

Bundeswehr units advancing from Afghanistan towards MEC 4th defence region... Iran. (Part of my WW3 series) ;P

This is likely to be my best work but also one with a lot of failures T_T
After looking more carefully at the lineart I a made stupid error and that was body proportions. I actually did care about that issue but I never bothered to see if the outcome was ok. I guess that kind of errors happen very often when drawing so quickly ^^;
Well... next time I'll be more careful on that issue but since I've been doing these mistakes very often I think I'm going to need a lot more practice with drawing bodies applying perpective... back to body drawing 101. :cries:
If you didn't notice the error... here's a hint: The heads look bigger than they should be... a little bigger and the soldiers would have looked like chibi soldiers. ^^; Man... i did screwed up a lot in this drawing. many body parts also look funny and weird. :( I need a lot more practice before doing such kind of projects again.
The vectors didn't came up as expected and my lazyness didn't allowed me to focus on more details. *sigh*
Tried to hide these mistakes making some changes in the brightness and colours as well as adding lens flare of different types.

What you see on this picture is an EF2000 firing a AIM-9 Sidewinder missile. Near it there's a Panavia Tornado in an attack vector. The helicopteris an upgraded UH Tiger helicopter. I say upgraded because the current UHT does not count with the Rheinmetall RMK30 as seen here.
Below it you can see the Leopard 2A6 on a improvised desert camo pattern. The Dingo II is also present below the tank. The Dingo II is like german equivalent of the M998 HMMWV (Humvee), a light armored personal vehicle). On top of the Dingo a german soldier is operating a mounted MG (Maschinen Gewehr) 3, a NATO derivate of the WW2 MG-42 and produced by Rheinmetall.
And in the first line of fire the infantry! You surely will recognize Helga Nadler firing the H&K (Heckler & Koch) P8 Gun. That's another weirdy thing in this pic... lots of guns, explosions and all of sudden... this girl... and with no kevalr on her!!! Let's simply call it: "Light unnecesary Fan Service" ;) . The other three soldiers are using a MG3, a H&K G36C with a silencer (Which on the middle of a heavy combat I can't see how that is going to be useful) and finally the H&K G36-AG36 (My favourite weapon ^o^).

After this i got almost college on top of me sooo... I don't know how much can I do before starting the busy universitarian life again. :cries:
But well... from now on I'll be focusing (On my free time) more on other militaries. I was planning some JSDF and PLA drawings since I haven't drawn much about asian equipments. :lol:
Drawings about the US Military will also continue to show up but don't expect me to make one every single day :P

Well... after some time... Feuer Frei is ready!
See'ya on the battlefield! :salute:

I'm not really a fan of the German defense forces, but this is really good. Did you get the idea of this off of BF2?
Also I was wondering why there is a female in there with no protection and just a P8 ( although this is fictitious ). As far as the Infantry go, I wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't pointed it out, and in my opinion there's nothing wrong with it.
Hopefully I will be this good in the future, because I like drawing but can't really draw that well. How do you draw these, and how long does it usually take? Is there a specific technique? I don't want to be a nuisance, just wondering because you draw really well. My mom is really, really good at art but I'm sure I didn't inherit that ability at being good at art lol.

I give this a 10/10, because when you draw as bad as I do I always see other peoples art as really good, especially since art like this is so good.

P.S. It would be cool if you could do American, Israeli, and Russian forces, which I'm sure would look really cool.

"Did you get the idea of this off of BF2?"

Not quite. I was more inspired by Point of Existence 2 mod for BF2. At the time I made this my fiction was ment to be based around the BF2 universe but I've decided recently to move away from that and go for a universe entirely of my own.

"Also I was wondering why there is a female in there with no protection and just a P8 ( although this is fictitious )."

That's a rather badly executed attempt at fan service. =P Or I didn't think about it too much and just did it. ^^;

"Hopefully I will be this good in the future, because I like drawing but can't really draw that well. How do you draw these, and how long does it usually take? Is there a specific technique? One suggestion, if you have to aim somewhere to become a better artist, don't aim at me. ;P Aim higher!
This work in particular is pretty old and represents a stage of my style that I have improved a lot since. Today I regard this as pretty bad and a rookie's work. Today I can do much better than this yet there are thousands of artists that are way better than I am currently. Today I aim at becoming as good as they are but I still got a LONG way ahead of me.

Also, Talent is not something you can inherit. You have to work for it. You need to start working with the basic and then move slowly towards more complex projects. You have to draw a lot meaning not necessarily lots of details but a lot of projects. Practice makes perfect. That phrase sums it up perfectly. By simply drawing more and more you get better without noticing it. My case can be seen today pretty well. Check my first submitions here and compare it to my most recent submitions. Today my artistical style is so good that I would not have thought possible a few years ago. I can't imagine how it'll get in upcoming years.

And I'm not precisely the hard-working type of person, so ANYONE can actually go this path perhaps with much more ease than I do. Practice is the key to obtaining a good talent. :) If you have a good perseverance, you'll master anything.

"P.S. It would be cool if you could do American, Israeli, and Russian forces, which I'm sure would look really cool."

You should check my gallery, I got plenty of US-Military stuff. ;) Not so much Russian which I would like to. I recently made a camo brush ment to re-create easily the Russian VSR/Flora camouflage so it shouldn't be much work making a few Russian Military drawings.
And I also got a small bunch of Israeli Air Defence Force pics although they're pretty old. I haven't got around doing Israeli stuff because unfortunately, every Israel-related project will soon or later become another Israel versus Palestine debate. I had to block comments on every IDF-related project I have because people will do its best to flame each side over and over and over again. :hmm:

So If I do anymore of those Projects, I'm afraid I will not allow comments on them. :(

I'll look more at your art and compare them to see the differences.
I forgot that if any IDF art was put up it would lead to those arguments that people have all the time. However the Russian Federation forces will no doubt look cool, especially with the Flora camo. Maybe some Vozdushno-Desantye Voiska ( Airborne-Landing Forces ) supported by ASU-85's, BMD-2's and BTR-80's. I was also wondering if you know a lot about the modern day Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine, and Bundeswehr; I mentioned that I was never interested in the German Defense Forces, but was wondering how exactly it compares to all the other European militaries. I know the military GDP for Germany was at 99 in world comparison last I checked, while France was at 56, Sweden at 100, Russia at 27, America at 26, and Israel at 6. You seem to know quite a bit about the German Defense Forces by how much you mentioned in "Open Fire"-more than I know when it comes to things like the versions of "Eurotiger" and FAV vehicles. Militaries I know quite a bit about, as you might guess is America, Russia and Israel, but not too much about European militaries.

Just one note, Bundeswehr stands for the whole Modern german military, The Army is called "Heer" and the Navy is "Marine" (Formely called "Bundesmarine").

And while know enough about the German Military equipment, I can't say the same regarding budget comparisons. I'm afraid that the comparison lists around the internet often are outdated or incomplete. So I can't be sure of anything in that aspect. Sorry. ^^;

Yeah like... why waste some minutes writing a comment to start up a debate that either way is not going to change absolutely nothing. Much easier to simply state one's position and move on. :D

But meh... regarding that particular subject, I made a poll which can be found on my profile. =P

Oh.... well that is one of the pros of Corel PhotoPaint. :iconimhappyplz:

PhotoShop has some lazy Lens Flare effects and they're just.... limited.
So I normally color my drawing on Adobe PhotoShop and when I need a very good Lens Flare effect (The light effects you see in this pic) then I save the work and go to Corel PhotoPaint where there is this awesome tool that lets you personalize the lens flare effect to have the size, brightness, color, etc you want.
This other picture shows how extreme I can go with these effects: [link]

one of the interpretations to it just as Links 2 3 4 is interpreted as communist propaganda and Sonne is seen by some as about the jews in the concentration camps, just have to look into into. And yes i have read the lyrics, its where i get my sources from, I'm not a fool who makes points without refrencing.

:confused:
That about "Links 2 3 4" interpretation I did hear. Not as Commi prop though. Actually what I read about that controversy was that initially it was deemed as a militaristic and right-winged song but this claim was later refuted by the band itself and other supporters. It's believed that Rammstein is more towards Leftism rather than neo-nazism or communism like many ignorants want to believe. I think the original march theme on the german Bundeswehr is actually "Rechts (Right) 1, 2, 3" and this would have been changed to Links (Left) in order to reflect the bands political tendency.

About Sonne.... I really couldn't tell if such interpretation is accurate or merely a theory that took several hours of wasted time made by someone who wants to call the attention.

I still hold that "Feuer Frei" is more about War and militarism rather than Sex. The title is simply the order "Open Fire" in german which is default at the Bundeswehr. The description given by the lyrics are more of a battlefield rather than sexual activity. If the Musical video of "FF" (If there ever was one) suggests so, then it's ok...

you diont need to elaborate on these things, i know their meanings, and like i said its an interpratation, which all depends on opinion, and for all we know their could be double, triple or no meanings to certain songs.

You are a person living in the United Kingdom, telling a German person what a German song means.

I would think they would know.

Well, I still think its funny that you tell a German person what his own lanquage means when you (appear) to be English. However, before you take offense, it is still a matter of opinion as to what excactly Ramstein was singing about in that song.

That's awesome. You know, the title you chose for this artwork is a song by Rammstein, a German metal band. You may have or may not have heard of them. Just throwing that out there. They're a very good band if you like metal sang completely in German. =D
