Remaining vigilant on the border

This was on the "To-do" list since mid 2014. That is.... quite the wait I have to say. I do must apologize because I did postpone this project way more than I should have.

For this project I've used the newly developed "inking" style that I developed in the previous few drawings of this year. Basically using the pen tool to make custom shapes. This way I can spare myself having to inking it in real life. And it does guarantee maximum quality. One problem is that inking objects of nature like bushes, trees, grass is a pain in the ass. Then again using PhotoShop brushes I really didn't need to do those after all. So those details I may just not "ink" from now on. I also used a slighty different way to color (Including shadows and lights) my works. I put pretty good attention to detail this time. If you look at this picture at 100% you will even see the fabric on the uniform. . I also used a recently downloaded plugin that allows me to custom make my own lens flare effects so this is not from Corel Photopaint like I used to do in the old days. I may need to practice more with this plugin but hey there will be more chances in the future. Gotta be careful not load my pictures with these. May end up becoming a nuisance if abused.

Well with this picture I'm making my somewhat glorious comeback to arting! After a two and half year self imposed hiatus (Then again I did do a few drawings between then and now) I think I should be back on business like in the old days. Well not quite yet 'though. I am going back to Germany next week and will be back on the 10th of January. Which means I can't undertake any major drawing or coloring projects until I am back. I did finish this well before than I actually expected so I may go back to that "Enemy Combat" picture fav.me/d6tuwn7 which is around 55% done in the coloring process but that I have since left unfinished. If I'm on roll I may even have that one finished before I leave . No guarantees except for that I will try to do that. What I can promise is that I will bring paper and my pencils and try do some small sketches, some of them I might even try to color when I come back (If they're worth it). May actually share those as I get them done while I'm there on my facebook account. Make sure to visit that one and leave it a watch as well.
