The Night of the Panzers -NV- by Panzerfire The Night of the Panzers -NV- by Panzerfire
Let's turn the night vision on! :D

This is basically this picture [link] but with a Night Vision effect. :giggle:

This time I managed to make the NV effect much better than last time :D and I'm now eager to do more Night-based projects :excited:

(From the original picture): Here we see 2 German Army (Deutsches Heer - Bundeswehr) Leopard 2A6 Kampfpanzer (Main Battle Tanks) moving in the deserts of [Insert random desert location], fighting against the armored divisions of the Middle East Coalition.

The two tanks have different color liveries. The main one is painted in the same desert camouflage as in real life german ground equipment that is currently being used (Partially) by the Bundeswehr in Afghanistan. Actually I have yet to see a L2A6 with such camouflage but if they were to be deployed by the german army I think they would paint some of them with such camo.
The other Leopard has the classic woodland camo paint that can be seen in most NATO vehicles.

This time I've made sure it'd look darker due to the birghtness of the gun fire. However I'm not sure if NV devices reduce the brightness of the whole image automatically when a large sourcfe of light is picked up by the NV device.

Also I've added some PhotoShop effects that make it look more like TV distortion.

Well I hope you like as much as the original picture. ;)

I'm currently working on the colors of my next project and might have it ready in a few days.

See'ya in the Battlefield! :salute:

Wow really nice NV effect. These are links for a few pictures I took in Iraq through my nods.

Might help with future NV illustrations. These are from a Gen 3 PVS-18.

He he. Well thanks. I'm glad you like it. It's good to know that the hard work I put into these projects is appreciated. Thanks.

Although you really don't have to re-fave it all if you really don't want to. Just to know that you appreciate it is as good any amount of faves. :)

Wow. Awesome. Great shading. But The Middle East Coalition... hmm, I have heard of them before. They are fictional. but it rings a bell.

At last, the night-vision version. Aside from the lighting problem everyone's talking about over here, everything else is realistically good. :thumbsup:B-)

Had I blurred the foreground tank the picture might as well could have passed as a real photo. This obviously makes me happy because it means I'm improving further and further. :)

Well... :iconladyduomaxwell: asked the same thing so I'll quote my reply to her for you:

"I first took the original picture and, in PhotoShop, went to "Image > Adjustments > Variations" and there I added green tones as much as I deemed necessary... I also darked it a bit.

Next step is going to "Filter > Filter Gallery" and once there you look for either "Film Grain" under the Artistic folder or you look for "Grain" under the Texture folder. The second option has also some variations of grain within it.

I went for the second one. Bear in mind that you can set settings in both effects depending on how you want your picture to look like :) "

I hope it helps ;)
