Description

Note: Any kind of political messages, no matter who posts it, will be hiden and depending on whetter it's a flaming post or not I will proceed to block that user.

Formely known as "From Russia with Love" (A James Bond movie title).
I think the new title fits better :D

I had originally uploaded this sometime early 2007 as one of my first serious works using Adobe PhotoShop, Corel PhotoPaint (For the lens flare effect) and I think it's the first drawing I made combining hand-made work with a vector.
It became pretty popular at one point.
This picture was removed (Despite I could have just "de-activated" it from my gallery) along with two other deviations (Which I'll upload soon) as a protest againt August war between Gerogia and Russia. The drawings I removed all featured russian soldiers or units in neutral or positive way. I would have removed drawing of georgian soldiers as well but... I don't have any ;) So it's not as if I was totally biased when doing this. And hell... I have the whole right to do whatever I want to do in my gallery.

Anyway... I decided this crisis between Georgia and Russia is not over but yet it has entered in a "cold" stage in which neither side can't take initiative. So I'm lifting my auto-ban on drawing russian soldiers/units (Note that is also applies for georgian soldiers/units although I'm not interested in drawing any).

Well.... this picture as it is old shows also some imperfections that have been previously noted. So constructive criticism here won't be much.... constructive :XD: C'mon... It's like criticizing the drawing I made when I was 5 years old :D (And boy those were ugly drawings).
Some of the errors made goes from the russian military rank insignia located wrongly to not having reproduced exactly the camouflage used by russian forces (And I mean it's truly hard to know what camoes are the russians using 'coz they got way too many variants). Another thing here is the lack of fingers.... I say again... old drawing. Nowadays I always try to draw the fingers although it ain't easy.

So... Here's a russian soldier holding a AK-74M/GP-30. Behind her a Mi-24P Hind about to land in the beautiful plains of souther Russia.

For those who already have faved and/or commented on this before it was removed... There is no need for you guys to do it again :)

Ok.... I'll be uploading the two other pics (Which are simple linearts) soon possibly right after this one.
I'll be replying to all your comments, journals, replies and deviations ASAP.

Until then... See'ya in the Battlefield. :salute:
