Time for some Payback

Description

Here we see the good ol' Tankbuster (A-10 Thunderbolt II) giving hell to those damn tripods (from the War of the Worlds) while their shields are down. All in the beautiful hills of Virginia (I wonder if they look like that... I never was in the USA =P ).
One lies down on the floor already hit by a AGM-114 Hellfire while a second one that has been hitted as well still stands (although not for long) and attempting to shoot down the aircraft (Failing closely to do it).
The A-10 is also firing it's main 30 mm GAU-8/A Avenger Gatling gun against a third off-screen tripod (Which without shields is about to have a really nasty time).
Quoting Russel Casse: Payback's a bitch, ain't it?

In this picture again I have used no special brushes. Believe it... It took me a damn while playing around just with the default tools (And I mean the very default ones) on different colors, sizes and opacities to get more or less good textures. I still gotta practice more in that area but I feel that I'm doing improvements.
The sunset/sunrise was made using one of my sunrises photos for color reference. Played a while with the sky before getting to a point where I thought it looked good. Not sure if the Lens flare effect suits well to the pic. ^^;
The smoke didn't come out very good. I have to practice more those. Also I think I may had added too much smoke because the "dead" tripod is hardly spottable due to the smoke. ^^; The damage on the "still alive" tripod is alsp hard to see. My failure.
I had to improvise a lot because I was working with fewer layers than usual. The A-10 was made pretty much with the same technique as usual. All dirt and scracthes were made using basic brushes. It went quite better that I actually expected. Not very sure 'though about the light effects on the bird. :hmm:
Oh... and the Motion blur effect is a detail killer. It helps to add movement to the picture but it kills the details of it.

Allright... I hope you like this.
Next project to come is a "Why I joined the Deutsches Heer (Bundeswehr)" picture very soon since it's partially complete.
I'll get to all your comments ASAP.

See'ya in the Battlefield! :salute:

Okay, I have to say, I was pretty impressed by the fact you did a H.G. Wells crossover. That is so freaking cool. Clap
