Want to Play? by Panzerfire Want to Play? by Panzerfire
Sure! Let's pla....

Is that a hand grenade?!

Helga loves them hand grenades. And also to throw them at people she doesn't like. =P

Damn the asshole who let a box full of them near her (Hint: It's Mr. "you know who" ;P ).

Not much to say about this. I'm overall happy with the way it turned out. Well, except the arms and the hands. I still got to practice more in those areas.

Flecktarn pattern was made as usual with my own brushes which you can download from here: [link]

I still got one more Bundeswehr-related project and then I'm off to do non-BW stuff, I promise. ;)

I hope you like it.

See'ya in the Battlefield! :salute:

Wrong.

That's a DM51 standard handgrenade. A Stiehlhandgranate is something very different.

BUT i do have to say one thing, due to it's stick-like shape, the Stielhandgranate M24 and other varrients could be thrown very easily and much furthur then the normal American and modern ''pineaples'' as they were called, i know it originated in Nazi Germany BUT it's shape is physicaly the best for a granade. I wonder why they changed it, or at least didnt keep the shape.

Shape serves porpouse. While a stick-like hand grenade has its advantages there's also one major disadvantage. It's big and heavy. Nowadays soldiers are expected to cary as much ammo as possible, and as such weapons, ammo and gear have to get smaller.

So a Stick hand grenade is nowadays rather inpractical for a modern soldier since it means getting rid of more important stuff like ammo for their main weapons. Ball or Egg shaped hand grenades today remain of common use because they're practical for the use of the modern infantryman.
